    The War of Many Moons

“Sir, I have a message from the king of the Kingdom of hills. He has declared war on us immediately. He spoke of striking at dawn,” said Bishop Thomas with a quiver in his voice as he rushed in to the throne room where the King and Queen awaited. The floors were covered with a plush carpet. The thrones were placed at the end of the red fabric aisle where the king and Queen sat.
“Dear Thomas will you please calm down,” spoke the Queen. She sat to the right of the King dressed in a gorgeous gown.
“Yes. Yes, Thomas it is quite alright. Send to the King that we will be ready at dawn on the northern pastures,” said the King in his calm fine voice.
The bishop looked down with a bit of sorrow, “Yes sir, I will send the notice right away.” As Thomas walked away out of the huge wooden doors, the two head knights walked in.
“We’ve heard the news and are prepared to fight,” said James as he bowed, “All citizens capable to fight are ready for dawn.”
“Very well then, get rested up, you will be awaken at midnight for preparations. I suspect you will be ready,” said the King with a smile for he loved to joke.
“Of course your majesty,” said the knights as they bowed before their king, “We will tell the others.” James began to walk away but, then was stopped when he heard a familiar voice speak out.
“Oh, and sir,” said the other knight who was much quieter than most others.
     “Yes,” replied the King.
“Don’t you think the pons will need more supplies?”
“Jack,” said James in a tone of urgency, “Let’s go!”
     “I’m just asking,” replied Jack.
“Um excuse us your highness. We will get working right away,” said James with a fake smile. James pulled Jack by the arm out of the throne room with a shocked and disgusted look on his face.
“What were you doing,” asked James.
“I wanted to know,” replied Jack, “They are short on supplies.”
“Yes, but, we are to deal with that not the King. He has other things to do besides helping pons,” said James with a glare.
Jack looked down in disappointment, “Alright, I’m sorry.”
“You should be,” said James with a snarl, “but, you were just being kind to the pons so I guess you’re alright.” James smiled at jack and they walked back to their quarters. They walked through the huge gardens on a path that led straight to their rooms.
